About the Challenge

What is the 30 Day Challenge? (For those who like the shorter version…)

The 30 Day Challenge is a social experiment to see what impact, if any, doing an act of kindness every day for 30 days can have on you and those around you.  Starting on June 22nd, a daily challenge will be posted to this website.  The challenge will be an act of kindness that you are asked to do throughout your day.  We ask that you post comments about how participating in the challenge impacted you or others, and/or comment on others’ thoughts that they post.

Challenges will be small “pay it forward” concepts such as paying someone a compliment and cooking someone a meal.

What is the 30 Day Challenge? (For those who like the longer version…)

The 30 Day Challenge is a call to action for those of us who constantly tell ourselves we will accomplish something, only to find we’ve put it off yet another day.  Even with our pure intentions, it is often difficult to sustain the motivation to make an impact on other people’s lives, as well as our own.  With this challenge, we intend to show you just how easy it is to make a significant change in life with such a small act of kindness.  Those of us who find that a little inspiration makes all the difference in the world can simply log on to our website and view the experiences of those who have succeeded in each day to day challenge and wish to share the impact it has had.  Sometimes the challenge will be for the greater good of the world, those who surround us.  Other times, the challenge will be about you.  We can never do enough, and in this economy especially, every little effort counts one hundred percent.  Pass it along.

Each day, a new challenge will be posted and you will be given the chance to both complete the challenge and discuss it with others. While we have the first fifteen challenges planned, we will still continue to post them on a day by day basis. We hope that you will help create fifteen more challenges that we can incorporate into the website. You will see a place on the site that allows for suggestions as to new challenges.

Our mission is to facilitate a positive change both within ourselves and for others as we come to understand that small simple acts of kindness can truly make a large and impressive impact.

About Us

Marissa Gilbert and Remy Kurland met in high school fifteen years ago and have since maintained a strong friendship.  Marissa’s job as a consultant and executive coach give her just the leadership experience she needs to oversee the 30 Day Challenge.  Though Remy only became a teacher this past January, with her experience, she will be able to add her insight and ideas to this project.
